Whether you’re launching a new business, rebranding, or just want your content to actually match for once — a Brand Board is a must-have. It’s a visual cheat sheet that keeps your fonts, colors, logos, and vibe consistent across everything you post, print, or sell. Good news? You can design one in Canva even if you’ve never done branding before!
🖥️ Step 1: Set Up Your Canvas
Head to www.canva.com and click “Create a Design”. Use a custom size like 1080 x 1920 px (story-sized) or 1920 x 1080 px (landscape) to give yourself room to layout your brand details. Keep it simple and organized—we’re building a reference, not a flyer!
🖌️ Step 2: Add Your Core Brand Elements
Start with the essentials:
- Primary Logo – Upload your main logo under the “Uploads” tab
- Alternate Logo – Add a stacked version, circle version, or watermark
- Color Palette – Use the “Elements” tab to add small squares or circles, then click to change each one’s color to your HEX codes
- Fonts – Add a few text boxes to showcase your headers, subheaders, and body text with names listed
- Textures / Patterns / Icons – Optional but adds personality!
🖤 Save Time with Diesel Designs Templates
Want to skip the layout work? The Editable Canva Template Drive includes a ready-to-edit Brand Board Template—just plug in your colors, logos, and fonts. It’s clean, simple, and designed with small biz owners in mind.
📸 Step 3: Make It Visual
Your brand board isn’t just about info—it should *look* like your brand too. Use consistent spacing, a clean layout, and on-theme elements like icons, sparkles, or textures that match your aesthetic. If you sell grunge, spooky, or colorful designs, your brand board should reflect that vibe.
📥 Step 4: Download & Save It
Click “Share” → “Download” and save as a PNG or PDF. Store it in a folder with your branding assets and refer to it anytime you create content, design packaging, or build a website. Bonus: Share it with your designer, VA, or anyone else working on your biz to keep things consistent!
