So you’ve got a killer design—now what? If you want to make your product listings pop, professional-looking mockups are a must. That’s where Smartmockups comes in! You don’t need Photoshop or a fancy setup—just a design file and a few clicks. Smartmockups is built into Canva, and once you know where to find it, it’s a game-changer for sublimation sellers, t-shirt brands, and tumbler makers alike.
Start by heading to www.canva.com and uploading your finished design. On the left side of the screen, click Uploads > Upload Files, and select your PNG or JPG. Once it’s uploaded, click the image to place it on your canvas. Don’t worry about resizing or tweaking yet—we’ll get to that in the mockup tool.
Now, click on your image to select it. At the top of your screen, you’ll see a little white toolbar appear. Click the button that says Edit Image. Scroll down through the available effects until you find Smartmockups (Canva’s integrated mockup tool). Click it!
You’ll be shown a bunch of mockup categories. For tumblers, scroll to “Mugs” (yep, tumblers are hidden in there!). For t-shirts, head to “Clothing”. Click the style you want—white crew necks, flat lays, models, etc.—and Canva will automatically place your design into the mockup! You can click “Adjust” to fine-tune the placement and size. 💥
